Six years in the making

I have been waiting patiently for six years for this day to happen. And in less than three months it will become a reality. It was six years ago when I was a sophomore in high school that a couple friends and I hiked the Appalachian Trail. My life would never be the same. While I had a lot of experience camping and being in the outdoors, hiking was something relatively new to me. To make a long story short I enjoyed that trip a lot. The next trip I took I enjoyed even more. And the most recent AT trip, while it ended abruptly, was still fun. So, if you haven't figured it out by now, I decided the other day to thru hike the Appalachian Trail after graduation. I'll probably be leaving around May 11th. It's going to be a challenge to do all the planning and preparing with what little time I have left, not to mention the majority of my time is occupied until May. I will find a way though. I've got to do stuff like renew my drivers license, get dentist appointments out of the way, you know, stuff that I might miss on a 5 month trip away from home.

And thats not even things that directly effect the hike itself. On that end I need to get all my gear together, make sure that my pack is light enough and figure out food drops that I can send ahead if I decide to do that. I'm luckily well ahead on the gear side of things, having collected quite a bit over the years. There's a couple more items I'd like to pick up still, though.

So that about covers it. If for some reason I don't see you before I leave, this will have to suffice as a goodbye. I'll still be in touch to a degree on the internet, so I'll keep you updated. See ya.

What do you know, I actually did something

I've done a lot on my coroflot page, mostly due to having to send out a job application w/ work samples by wednesday. So I had all of it done and neatly organized for optimal web viewing. You should check it out and tell me what you think.
